Have you ever wanted to start something over? One night we were watching a cooking competition which is something my husband and I both enjoy. The home chef was to prepare a dish to show their skills. The dish would then be evaluated and then it would be decided if they would be able to enter into the competition. One chef prepared a meal to impress the judges. Unfortunately, the meal was not authentic to herself. She was just trying to impress the judges but not with being true to her style and self.
Then one judge called her out on it and asked if this was how she cooks, and where her passion was. He chatted with her mom and asked if this was how she was taught to cook. The judge then said you have 2 hours to redo your dish with yourself and your passions. End of the story is she came back and created a dish that earned her a spot in the competition. As I saw this unfold I thought how true to life this can be.
Different is ok
When you look at different people and read about their stories there is the key. It is their story. Challenges come and go and are different for everyone. Success also looks different for everyone. When I was little I heard words like, “Can’t you be like so and so?” I would then try to mimic that person. When I did this as exactly as I could I lost me. I am sure this resonates to many out there and then you loose your own individuality. Now this doesn’t mean you can follow patterns and steps. But it can mean you can put your own authentic self into those steps. I like to think of those steps as a guide where I can add my own personality in. Have you ever wanted to start something over?
